AARP Tax-Aide Service
Provides in-person and virtual tax assistance to anyone free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low to moderate income. Program is cosponsored by the IRS.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program services are generally available from late January/early February through mid-April of each year. During that time, you can enter your zip code to find a Tax-Aide location near you. Please note: MCMLS is no longer a host site for AARP Tax-Aide.

MilTax: Tax Services for the Military
Free tax services for active military, veterans and their families. Services include tax preparation and e-filing software, and one-on-one help from military tax experts. Provided by Military OneSource and the Department of Defense.
United Way Montgomery County Center
The Montgomery County Service Center supports free tax preparation as a key component of United Way THRIVE. If your annual income is $58,000 or less, you qualify for free tax preparation with help from an IRS certified tax preparer.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Use the VITA Locator Tool to find a VITA site near you.
