About

The Genealogy & Local History Room was established in 1976 due to the efforts of Imogene Kennedy, our first Genealogy Librarian, and the Montgomery County Genealogical Society. Our collection has since grown to be one of the largest in the state of Texas.

The collection offers books, local yearbooks, records, maps, microfilm, and much more. Events are regularly held on various historical and genealogical topics. In 2017, a Preservation Pad was acquired, which allows the user to digitize documents, photos, and film.

*A microfilm/fiche reader is available. Please bring a flash drive if you wish to save any information.
