2018 Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest

The Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Inc. (DRC-MC) seeks entries for its 2018 Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest. The contest is open to all Montgomery County students in grades K through 8. Use the button below to print the submission form and artwork template.
Artwork may be mailed or dropped off to: Elaine Roberts, Dispute Resolution Center, 301 N. Thompson Street, Suite 106, Conroe, Texas 77301. Please call or email with any questions. Level 1, Kindergarten through Second grade
Level 2, Third through Fifth grade
Level 3, Sixth through Eighth grade.
Bookmarks will be judged on creativity and message conveyed. The following prizes will be awarded for each category:
- 1st Place: Winner will receive $75.00.
- 2nd Place: Winner will receive $50.00.
- 3rd Place: Winner will receive $25.00.
- Honorable Mention: Winner will receive $15.00.
Submit original artwork in book mark size (3 inches high by 9 inches wide) or on a 8½ x 11 inch sheet of paper with the image size being no larger than 3 inches high by 9 inches wide. Please be sure that the student’s name, age and grade, school or program name, teacher’s name and an address are included with each bookmark entry. Please DO NOT FOLD BOOKMARK.
Bookmark art must reflect a conflict resolution or prevention theme, such as peer mediation, talking things out, apologizing, respecting differences, solving problems together, listening, tolerance, peace building, or alternatives to violence.
All original artwork must be received on or before 5:00 p.m. on September 28,2018. Winners will be listed on the DRC-MC website by Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Faxed or emailed bookmarks will not be accepted.
An awards ceremony will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. Judge Kathleen Hamilton will present awards to the winners. Winning bookmarks will also be displayed at the Montgomery County Memorial Library System, Central Branch.
The DRC-MC is a 501(c)(3) corporation. The DRC-MC reserves the right to use copies of any art submitted in contest publicity of for any future public awareness promotions.
