Montgomery County Memorial Library System presents special Dr. Seuss public storytimes for preschool-age children. These programs are offered in conjunction with a partnership with HoustonPBS to support the THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!™, a show premiering on PBS Kids September 6. THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!™ offers children a whimsical introduction to science, and sneak previews with more information can be found at their website http://pbskids.org/catinthehat/.

Books on the Bayou

Books on the Bayou is a program started by the Houston Public Library, designed to bring communities together by encouraging all residents to read the same book at the same time, provoking discussion among co-workers, friends, families and within classrooms. During the month of September, Montgomery County residents are encouraged to read Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.

Montgomery County Memorial Library System will also hold a trivia contest during the month of September. Each week, 4 questions will appear on our website and in the Conroe Courier. Readers are invited to answer the questions online or bring them to their local MCMLS branch to be entered into a weekly drawing!
