My book is late; how much is my fine?
Fines are 10 cents per day per item.
What kind of payments does the library accept?
All branch locations accept cash or checks. Checks must be written in the amount of $2 or more. Credit cards and debit cards are not accepted.
I lost a book; what are my fines for the book?
The charge for a lost book varies depending on the replacement cost. A $5 processing fee is added to the cost of all lost or damaged items.
Can I ever be restricted from checking out materials?
Borrowing privileges will be suspended once fines reach the amount of $25.
I lost an item; how much will it cost to replace it?
Check with the circulation desk at your branch to find out the cost.
I paid for something that was lost, but I've found the item. Can I get a refund?
A refund can be issued with the following conditions:
The item must be returned with the white copy of the Official Receipt showing it was paid for.
Materials (excluding AV) must be returned within 90 days of the date on the Official Receipt for a refund.
AV materials and other returnable items (such as cases, bags, pockets, etc.) must be returned within 14 days of the date on the Official Receipt for a refund.
If you pay for missing items with a check refunds cannot be given until 4 weeks after date on the Original Receipt when payment was made.
The processing fee of $5 is non-refundable.
A Refund Request form must be submitted to the County Auditor for reimbursement for items paid by check.
A Refund Request form must be submitted if the library does not have sufficient funds to process refund at time it is requested.
It may take 6 - 8 weeks to receive your refund check. Your check will be mailed to you at the address noted on the Refund Request Form.
