Mitchell Library Named Finalist for the
2017 National Medal for Museum and Library Service
The George and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Library, a branch of the Montgomery County Memorial Library System, has been chosen as a finalist for the 2017 National Medal for Museum and Library Service by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This award is the nation’s highest honor for extraordinary public service, recognizing institutions that are valuable community anchors. Mitchell Library was nominated for the award by Congressman Kevin Brady and is one of only fifteen libraries to be recognized as finalists this year. Finalists for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service are selected because of their significant and exceptional contributions to their communities. We are thrilled to be recognized for this honor and look forward to continuing to offer programs that make a difference in our community!
